Prior to joining Staple Street Capital, Mr. Liu was a Chief Financial Officer at Herff Jones, LLC (prior division of Varsity Brands, a Bain Capital portfolio company), where he led the company through a successful turnaround, carve-out, and sale. He was responsible for stabilizing and restructuring a finance-plus organization which spanned FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Operations Finance, Pricing, and Commercial Finance.

Before Herff Jones, Mr. Liu led FP&A for Pizza Hut International (under Yum! Brands) through the COVID years, and spent five years at McKinsey and Company leading teams in strategic and operational engagements focusing on value capture in private equity-owned portfolio companies.

Mr. Liu earned an M.B.A. from Duke University (Fuqua School of Business) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University.
